Found this interesting ad for Spaulding-Gorham, Inc which claims also to be associated with Black, Starr & Frost. I've never seen this before.

Interesting. Spaulding & Co. was a luxury goods and jewelry store in Chicago, that, among other things, was the exclusive dealer for Gorham's Martele line in the midwest in the early 1900s...so eight months into the Depression Spaulding forged an alliance with Gorham to strengthen its financial standing (???)... I don't know what the arrangement was. Just have this ad from the national publication House and Garden. Hopefully, someone here will have an idea. And I wonder what 'associated with' means. IP: Logged |

A little poking around on the internet reveals that Spaulding was bought by Gorham in 1920 and Black, Starr & Frost merged with Gorham in 1929. IP: Logged |
