Thank you taking the time to read this. I can email photos. I have acquired my aunt's estate 3 Tiffany Sterling Silver trays of a sort--probably late 19th century. They are each 3 inches across and the recessed part is 2 inches across. There is a reticulated floral scalloped design around edge. Two are marked 9717 Makers 2819 928-1000 and one is marked 9848M251. Is there a source for acquiring more info on these? ------------------ IP: Logged |

Hi again Rosie. As I mentioned in response to your earlier posting, it is important that you follow a few simple rules which will result in the many good people here being more likely to help you. The first is to please introduce yourself to the forum. The second is to tell us about your interest in silver in general and then in particular why you are seeking information on these plates. The third is to post photos of the appropriate size in your next response to this thread. Offering to emailing photos or providing a website address to go look at are not of help since the whole point of this forum is to allow everyone to share in enjoying in seeing interesting silver and while helping everyone learn at the same time. This just doesn't work if things are done outside of this forum. There are step by step instructions on how to post photos here by clicking on the link that says "How to Post Photos" which you will find just above the box that says Please Read Before You Post. By following these simple procedures I'm sure you will find people here very helpful. IP: Logged |

As Kimo said, a picture is worth a thousand words. They sound like they could be butter pats. Charles Carpenter's book on Tiffany silver has lots of information, but aside from getting a rough date on your pieces, it wouldn't provide any more illumination. The gang here is the most likely way to find out more... IP: Logged |

Thank you; that sounds right--as I would have guessed. IP: Logged |
