Could you post a picture? Black Starr and Frost was in business for over a century. In fact, maybe they still are open. This mark has been in use since 1878, the company traces its origins back to 1801. Much of their wares were not made by BS&F but by other makers. We usually can not identify by a mark alone. The shape you describe is a traditional one, in use for the last 500 or so years. IP: Logged |

Hi and thanks for responding.. I will try and take care of all requests. I am fairly new at collecting silver and do most of my research online. I mainly shop estate sales and second hand stores looking for items which I enjoy, not just for value. I have had this mirror for twenty years and was given to me by my Grandparent. Most items I have have been researched with success however, this producer does not have IP: Logged |

Thanks and welcome. Please try to post some good photos - a close up of the mark and an overall photo or two as well. These really are important to telling you much with any confidence. IP: Logged |
