Hello! I have a question. I have a number of old Tiffany Blue books, but have been unable to find any pieces that list a miniature golf bag with clubs. Has anyone have knowledge of the item? Thank you all as always for any assistance. Jersey IP: Logged |

Sounds like either a novelty item or a custom-order piece. Either way, it could have been made offshore (Scotland?)...but you don't say what it is you have. Is there an actually mini-golf-bag with clubs and a Tiffany mark? IP: Logged |

Thank you for responding Mr. Dietz! The item in question was something a friend of mine had seen in a shop a while back. Yes, it was a golf bag on wheels with clubs. She knew I had old books and thought maybe I could verify if it existed. The shop has since gone out of business, (and I was aware they sold knock offs of Tiffany items mixed in with authentic ones), which is why when I could find no items like that on the web I thought I would ask the forum members about it. She had wanted to get it for a girlfriend who is an avid golfer. She could only recall that it may have been marked T&C or Tiffany & co. She said it was small, perhaps a charm, or pendant that could be hung on a chain as a necklace. She'd still like to get one but only if it were an authentic piece. She travels to Europe so I'll pass on your thoughts about it being made there. Thanks again for your help. Jersey

Jersey, Well, I got curious about this and decided to an internet search Tiffany Golf Cart to see what came up. And, one of the items listed seems quite close to what you describe. It was a bag and clubs and all the pieces come apart in a fascinating way. It was in an auction that ended a few days ago. Maybe this is what your friend saw -- another one of the same thing? Not wanting to break any rules, I have not included the link, and I am hoping I have not broken any rules with just this information for an item no longer available for purchase. If I have, I apologize. Also, I am not endorsing this as authentic because there is no way to know from what is shown. IP: Logged |

Hi jersey - Google and the big auction site are your friend. There are countless examples - but beware of fakes! Here some of the kitsch:

To denimrs & postnikov, I thank you so much. You've found what alluded me. As far as I know my friend said she saw it as I explained in a store a while back. Nice to know there is something like it out there but the problem is how to tell if it's authentic. Maybe she should give Tiffany a call to ask about it. That it would seem to be the safest way. Perhaps they can tell her if it were ever in any of their catalogues. I certainly didn't realize what a quest it was she sent me on. Again I appreciate all of your input. If she or I find more info I'll be sure to let you all know. Too bad there is such much faking going on, it's so sad. Jersey IP: Logged |
