![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() My latest silver hair comb, in a c. 1870 style, is marked STERLING and 32 (presumably a model number). It also has a mark that looks like a very stylized 3-leaf clover or two triangles with a sort of rectangle between them. Anyone recognize the mark? The comb itself is made of slightly thinner silver than my other combs from that period. It has some bright-cut decoration and a matte finish. I haven't polished it yet. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Thank you, Scott. But isn't Joseph Rodgers & Sons an English company? I assume this comb is American because of the sterling stamp & lack of British hallmarks. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() quote: Yes they are English. They are listed in Rainwaters's American Jewelry Manufactures which says their mark "is found in the jewelry section of the JC 1909". IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Ah, I thought of this comb as silver, but of course it's also jewelry. IP: Logged |
