All I've been able to learn about Webster is that they started in 1869, purchased the Frank Smith Co in 1958 and is now part of Reed & Barton. But I've seen beautiful sterling serving pieces they made, totally original designs.... Where can I find more historical info on company's designers and patterns? IP: Logged |

I collect Alvin silver, and i know where you are comming from, I've been there... I started by purchasing every book I could find that had any reference to Alvin at amazon and barnes and noble. I then found Scott and June's (This web sight - SMP Publishing), there is a good starting place to start. Search the web for the name, and read the hits. Search the Local / Public / Private / School Lib's in you area, go to dealers in you town / city and talk to people, most will share what info they have... Good Luck! IP: Logged |

T-man-NC, Thanks for responding. I have checked Rainwater's and every silver book I own (many) to no avail and I AM a dealer. LOL Some things just aren't meant to be learned, I guess, but will try your suggestions. Again, thank you IP: Logged |
