Copyrighted suggests an aesthetic design patent (Unger Brothers copyrighted a lot of its designs in 1904 and used the word copyrighted with its mark). A picture of the piece in question would help answer your query. I think of the use of "copyrighted" as an early 20th-century phenomenon, but don't see it as a way to date a Gorham piece particularly. IP: Logged |
