I recently acquired an old sterling sugar. The maker's mark is a pennant with the initial H on it. No luck with my books. Any ideas? IP: Logged |

It may be the Mechanics Sterling Company. According to Rainwater, it was the flatware(?) division of Watson, Newell Co., and they used a H in pennant mark. They were located in North Attleboro, MA, and sold out to Wallace in 1955. Get a copy of Rainwater and start with the Watson Company entry. Good luck on your research. Brent IP: Logged |

Brent - I'm embarrassed that I didn't recall your previous solution to my problem. Thank you very much for the answer and the fast response. IP: Logged |
