[26-2209] Hello, I inherited some of my grandmother's silver & want to learn about it. I am not selling it. What I want is to know the name of the pattern? My grandmother married in 1917 & I'm pretty sure she bought this then. She may have replaced a few pieces over the years. All of the pieces have the LAG marks. Four teaspoons also have a diamond with an H inside as in the picture below.
Can anyone help me identify this pattern? Thank you. IP: Logged |

A little late to the ball, but...jeez, this doesn't show up in Carpenter...but the shape (outline) looks like a variant of "Plymouth" from 1911...but without the front surface moldings and a hammered finish. Clearly meant to give an arts and crafts look, right to the excellent monogram. I wondered why no one had responded... IP: Logged |

I think this pattern is actually "Chatham-Hammered" circa 1915. The monogram is exquisite. IP: Logged |

The impressed H stands for "heavy" as Gorham had five grades of weight at the time your flatware was produced. Trade, medium, heavy, extra heavy and regular. With the monograms as you have, one can see why the designs of this period have remained popular. I think Durgin, a division of Gorham, also produced this pattern. I think that flatware that was not marked with a letter was regular weight, but I do not know where that weight fell within the five grades. IP: Logged |

Yep.. Chatham Hammered. Really nice A & C pattern, and popular considering the economic climate in the USA at the time was iffy. IP: Logged |
