I have a water pitcher with the following marks. T & I over what appears to be a drum with a box on either side containing an E in one box and a P in the other. Underneath the drum are the letters N S. Under the N S is a 5 digit number (xxx-xx) and under that are the words "Hand Hammered" Any Ideas would be greatly appreciated. TIA, BT IP: Logged |

I believe the letters are T & T which are marks used by Taber & Tibbits, Wallingford, CT from 1919-1941. According to Dorothy Rainwater's Enclopedia of American Silver Manufacturers, quote:N S is the abbreviation for nickel silver and "Hand Hammered" suggests it was made 1900-1920 during the arts and crafts time period. VI, You nailed it. When I read your response, I took out the magnifier and the bright lights and turns out that it is T & T. Thank you very much. BT IP: Logged |
