I have a small sterling silver spoon marked Bigelow Kennard & Co., it is marked sterling. It also has 3 Hallmarks The first one is hard to make out the second one is an anchor and the third could possibly be a "G" or "B" maybe not... This is my first time trying to identify an object by Hallmarks. The spoon has an Indian at the top - and the bowl has a engraved scene of a large sailing ship and a canoe with 5 Indians in it and there are boxes floating in the ocean around them. It looks to be the size of a sugar spoon. I have no clue. IP: Logged |

If the first mark is that of a lion, the pseudohallmarks (not true hallmarks) would be the trademark of the Gorham company, which would be the maker of the spoon. The Bigelow firm was located in Boston, and would have been the retailer. It sounds as if the scene on the spoon comemorates the Boston Tea Party. IP: Logged |
