Have inherited a footed candy dish (silver, of course) and the hallmark in just a MENORAH. It's a beautiful little dish. It was my grandmother's. Can anyone help? Granny was American. But dish could be from anywhere. IP: Logged |

The Ellis-Barker Silver Comany used various marks for different lines of goods -- a menorah was used on candy and sweet dishes among other things. The company was founded in Birmingham England in 1860 and opened an American branch in New York City in 1897. By 1978, they had become a division of Towle Silversmiths. The menorah mark was introduced c 1912. [This message has been edited by wev (edited 12-29-2004).] IP: Logged |
