[01-2669] Just wondering if anyone has heard of Reed & Barton's Nordic pattern? Mid fifties I think but no info that I could find on the internet. Thanks. IP: Logged |

Thanks Jersey, I believe it's a different pattern but I can't find pics of either to tell. Nordica is 1890 so I think that's too early. IP: Logged |

Hi! I believe that Reed & Barton bought W.H. Rogers. R&B has a Pattern name which is Nordica, not Nordic & if I am correct it is Silverplate. Try a matching service search for that & see if it works. Jersey IP: Logged |

Vathek, May I suggest you contact R&B directly, they have a website. I have their book too, but no mention of that pattern I can find. Bon Chance!

Is it flatware or holloware? This makes a huge difference. In general, flatware patterns have names. Holloware usually has a brand name, which can vary piece to piece. Looking at the mark, this is a plated piece. In a Scandanavian style. The word Nordic is in different font. My take would be that the standard Scandanvian pieces were labled Nordic for some department store promotion. IP: Logged |

There is a different piece on a well-known auction site with this information from Reed & Barton: "This is a silverplated item, catalog number 1155, in the Nordic pattern … it was manufactured here at our Taunton factory at sometime between 1958 and the early 1960’s. The “C” with the “A” inside indicates that the base metal is Copper Alloy." Do notice, however, that the date code on yours is for 1954. ~Cheryl IP: Logged |
