We have recently had customer come in to have some silver reproduced. His family for many years has had a large silver service by Lebolt of Chicago. Each piece has a letter H, a raised applied letter, on the front. It turns out that this gentleman had us make some replacement pieces back in 1970, before I arrived at ONC, and now needed more made. Apparently the family can't hold onto pieces well for we had to make several over the past few weeks. I spent several days filing many H's from a strip of silver and I really hope to never have to do that again. I thought that to make these for the customer we would have to start from scratch, but then I found the templates used in 1970 so all went well. I just looked up Lebolt online and found they made a wide range of items, but most of the flatware shown was in the style of our customer's. Geoff Blake IP: Logged |
