At the same auction where I purchased the Williams flatware in the last posting I made...I bought a creamer and sugar bowl that have what looks like a crown with 18 and one side of the crown and 83 on the other. Under the crown: FB Rogers Silver Co, Sterling under that: Weighted, under that the number 233 and then engraved the name:"Margaret Rose".

Questions:

Is "Margaret Rose" is the pattern name?
Any idea of year this may have been produced?

Is the "Margaret Rose" engraved or stamped and is it on the bottom or side of the pieces? Can you provide a picture of the marks?

There was a Margaret Rose pattern (flatware and holloware) introduced by the National Silver Co. in 1938. Also, the F.B. Rogers Silver Co. became a division of the National Silver Co. in 1955. There could be a connection, but without a picture, it's difficult to tell.

I'm furiously trying to figure out how to work this digital camera! As soon as I do the pix of the marks will be on their way.

btw: Margaret Rose is engraved on the bottom of the pieces.
