Polly's shoehorn post from June 4th (Can you make out this mark?) inspired us to start a new thread, for a Shiebler pattern we call Wire Twist, for lack of a better name. Here is a 11.5 inch letter opener.

Such a fabulous pattern. I notice that the twisting is a little different on my shoe-horn--mine has both ends of the wire on the front of the horn, and yours has one end on the front and the other on the back. IP: Logged |

Polly, I was captivated by the design the first time I saw it. Since it is a free-wheeling design, yes, they are all a bit different, as are our shoehorns. We have a few demitasse spoons, and they are are all slightly different. Here is one of them. IP: Logged |

Finally, a fork, perhaps an olive fork. It is 6 3/4 inches long. Note that the shaft is twisted similarly to the demitasse spoon, although the entire shaft of the demi is twisted. Also note that the outer tines are a separate single piece of wire, twisted around (and attached to) the center shaft.
