After years of this and emailing the senders to post on the forums and the resulting non action from the sender, we now just spot check these type of emails when there is time. Most often it is "what is worth" silverplate questions. Today I looked at one and it is interesting.... I just emailed them a recommendation to not scrap... Dear Sir or Madam, I am a volunteer at a Charity and have been asked to find out as much information as possible on a Gorham silver vase, I have spent an enjoyable few hours reading the Gorham information on your Forum. .... I have attached some scans of the item, purely for you to see it, I apologize for it not being polished, but that is the way it would probably be sold here, certainly if it is for scrap.
