I added this marvelous piece to my collection recently. To the best of my knowledge this pattern does not have a name. I have seen a fish set in this pattern. Is it a named pattern? It has many similarities to the Whiting Dresden pattern. It has the Lion W trademark. It is 11 inches long and weighs 5 troy oz. I have never seen an Asparagus server with a pronounced curved blade and question whether it might be some other type of server.

I have seen a Whiting asparagus server that had the same curved end and design as your server, but with an enameled handle. This one was called Dresden. But Whiting made another one called Dresden that does not look anything like yours.
I think the curved end was a great idea as with this the asparagus will not roll off.
Very pretty piece - enjoy.

Thanks for your reply. I also noticed that the functional end of the asparagus server is identical to the sterling inserts used for the Whiting Ivory pattern. Which has the ivory handles. I do not think the asparagus server shown here was part of a full line pattern and was probably limited to serving pieces.
