Recently at auction I purchased this wonderful, large toast rack standing on 4 bun feet. The rack has the mark of the Boston retailer Shreve, Crump & Low Co and sterling as well as there is a pattern number mark 1020. When I received the rack, I found a 4th mark that the auction house missed- a single M. Any thoughts? I know that American sterling toast are a scarce item. Thank you in advance!

The images of the marks are a little blurry. The "M"could just be a craftsman mark or maybe its the Manning Co. company mark? IP: Logged |

Nice find. I remember someone said that American ones are rare as Americans do not like cold toast. They really do make a nice letter holder for your desk. IP: Logged |
