Every Curator has a wish list. I've been lucky to collect a fairly eclectic assortment of silver, old and new, sublime and ridiculous, over my years here. But there are still things that we either cannot afford, or cannot quite justify within my stringent acquisition budget. So, just in case there are any closet benefactors out there... A great 18th century American pre-federal coffee pot (laugh all you want...) A Tiffany & Co. Japanesque mixed metal piece of top caliber from the late 1870s. A great piece of George Shiebler "Homeric" flatware. A piece of holloware in gold by Tiffany & Co., from their Newark halcyon years (1894-1920). A Meriden art deco plated coffee set (that great circular design that fits like a puzzle on the tray). Any great Tiffany & Co. silver jewelry from the 1930s and 1940s (I've never actually seen any, but I know they made it...). A great early piece of Gorham silver jewelry (1870s--again I know they made it, but I've only actually seen a couple of pieces). Am I greedy enough? IP: Logged |
