I would like to know the maker of these pieces and how old are they? 135 pieces of 800 silver, hallmarked, 800 inside an oval, then is a star 100 PO inside A kind of rectangle, and G inside a horizontal diamond and both inside an oval. Signed LQ. They are: Spoons: (8 of 4) (8 of 5) (8 of 5) (8 of 8) Forks: (8 of 7) (8 of 7) (16 of 8) (12 of 6) Knifes: (8 of 6) (8 of 8) (8 of 8) (8 of 10) (8 of 9) And 19 serving pieces of different sizes. Pd: for some writing on the knife blades they seem to be Italian. I will appreciate any help Regards, Adriana IP: Logged |

All I can tell you about 800 silver is that it is used all over Europe all through the 19th century (and into the 20th). The style and specific marks are what would help tell where and when your pieces were all made. You'll need to find a European silver expert, and that's probably going to be in the general silver forum, rather than in this one. Good luck. IP: Logged |
