we have a mermod jaccard cruet holder which holds two cruets, a salt and pepper shaker, and a bottle we cannot identify. the glass is blue cut glass labeled made in romania. does anyone know what the unidentified bottle is supposed to hold? IP: Logged |

The label on the bottle suggests that it was a later addition--but I don't know when Mermod Jacquard operated anyway. Not a name I know (I'm glad Scott does). However, there were lots of liquid condiments used in 19th century cruet stands--catsup, soy sauce, mustard powder or liquid, pepper sauce, etc., even in the early 19th century.
