An exhibit some years ago at the Smithsonian Museum showed the work of silversmith, BENJAMIN ROCKWELL. Pieces included trays, bowls, teapots, etc. dating in the time frame of the American Revolution. Can you please provide any information about this artist or tell me where I may find information? Thank you for any help. Janis IP: Logged |

Benjamin Rockwell is not a silversmith's name that I know. There was a Thomas Rockwell in Norwalk, CT, in the 1770s, and an Edward Rockwell in NYC in the early 1800s. Have you tried the Smithsonian, to see if their domestic life curators might remember the exhibit? IP: Logged |
