I have a Wm Rogers & Son silver serving platter. I do not know if it is sterling or plated. The pattern is "Spring Flower", and the number of the piece is 2072. It is round, about 16" in diameter. I could not find any information online about the manufacturer. I am interested in knowing more about it. Also I am curious of the value if you are able to give that type of information on this site. ------------------ IP: Logged |

William Rogers & Son is part of an extensive family of American silversmiths from Connecticut, who were one of the first to introduce plated silverware in the US. They were prolific and if you can borrow a copy of Dorthy T. Rainwater's book of American Silver Manufacturers it would give you a several page rundown of the company and it's many branches. I am almost certain you tray is plated and the numbers 2072 refer to a model and style of the tray. I believe Rogers & Son was bought out by International Silver. The Rogers family was a very industrious group of silversmiths. No info on value. IP: Logged |
