my pieces marked "r. hoer" also have the crescent moon and crown of german pieces. the also show something resembling an anchor w/ 800 beside it. each piece has a different number on the bottom in the 20 thousand range which i suspect is the pattern/mold? number? any more info out there? I'm afraid I'm an ignoramous about German silver. You have 800 silver, which is 800/1000 parts pure silver (as opposed to 925/1000 parts for sterling standard). It is a typical silver standard for Northern Europe (including Germany and Scandinavia). You are probably right about the pattern numbers--each form has a slightly different number, but within a series of the same pattern. IP: Logged |
