I have a flower vase that has the Meriden company seal. the base is silver with a women running and in the right hand is a holder in which you place a glass vase which is light blue with white flowers painted on it(sorry no picture) I was wondering the age of this piece and where I may go to have it restored. the color has faded some. Any information would be helpful IP: Logged |

Restored? Restored is a bad word, tho' most people don't realize it. Since silver doesn't fade, do you mean the light blue vase has faded somehow? This sounds like a piece from the 1880s, and I wouldn't mess with it. Glass doesn't fade, nor does enamel, which is how I'd expect the glass to be decorated. If it is in fact really oil paint on glass, I'd suggest you not mess with it at all. IP: Logged |
