We recently acquired a 3 piece antler carving set with the name Levesley Brothers, Sheffield engraved on the knife blade along with a crown stamp, a lion and possibly an "e". Can you tell me anything about the company and when it might have been made[snip ....sm]? IP: Logged |

Other than that they're English, I don't know what more I can find for you. These antler-handled carving sets were very popular in the 2nd quarter of the 20th century, but they must have prototypes that date back to the 19th century. My parents had one as a wedding gift in 1945 (perhaps not the same company, but the same idea) that they used all through my growing up. Any other information about this manufacturer? Sheffield was the center of the cutlery and electro-plating industry in England. Now it is an industrial has-been, like my own dear Newark. Even Europe treats its industrial cities badly.
