My grandaughter received 1847 roger bros set of sterling silverware. I do not know anything about this silverware. It does say sterling on the back of it and it is in the box it came in. It is a set of 12. gravy ladle also. Can u help me on this? bette IP: Logged |

Exactly what help do you need? The 1847 Rogers Brothers name shouldn't confuse you--this set is 20th century, and, oddly enough, it is sterling (as you pointed out), even tho' this company was best known (since 1847) as a maker of electroplated goods. The word "Heritage" appears in your topic heading--does that appear on the pieces themselves anywhere? It would be the pattern name. International Silver (who owns the 1847 Rogers name)did produce a "Heritage" silverplate pattern in 1953. Your set might be an earlier, sterling version. I can't talk about values, being a curator. Does this help somewhat? If you have more pointed questions, just add them here and I'll get back to you. IP: Logged |
