Hello, I am trying to find out more than the standard references detail on a partnership between Charles and George Fletcher of Philadelphia circa 1819 and 1824. Does anyone have suggestions on where to start or museums to contact? I do not live in Philadelphia, unfortunately. Regards, IP: Logged |

Deborah Waters at the Museum of the City of New York would be someone who could give you more information about the Fletchers--if it is known. Also, Donald Fennimore at the Winterthur Museum in Delaware is a particular expert on PHiladelphia silversmiths of this period. Jack Lindsay at the Philadelphia Museum is their decorative arts curator, but Beatrice Garvan, who works with Jack, and is the real silver maven, would be the best contact there. I'm afraid I don't have any numbers for these folks, but they'd be easy enough to contact through museum websites or telephone directories. IP: Logged |
