This piece is being given to The Newark Museum in memory of Ricardo Zapata, and I thought it would be nice to give it a little advance buzz. A two-handled dish by Marcus & Co., ca. 1905, NYC.
One of a small group known by Marcus (one is at the Metropolitan Museum) clearly derived from cups by Charles Ashbee of London (probably based on looking at photographs, because the structure is very different. IP: Logged |
