Now, I don't have images of the marks, but I can tell you what they are. This is a wonderful 1882 Dominick & Haff Japanese style tea kettle on stand. The mark is: Marked under kettle (A): lozenge-circle-diamond D&H mark with date 1881 inside diamond shaped lozenge and 925 inside lozenge. Also stamped incuse
And here is the thing itself:

I believe this is the same item I spent time and time again appreciating ... Always suggesting to the dealer to find placement in a public museum so I could continue to appreciate it. One day I returned for a visit but it was no longer there.... The dealer indicated it was sold privately. Based on the above photo, I suspect this is the same item. I would love to see more photos and wonder when it will be on display again? IP: Logged |

Another image of the Dominick and Haff kettle on stand...which will be installed sometime by the end of May. So they tell me. It will be part of our exhibition "The Teapot" in the Katz gallery outside the Ballantine House. It's a great thing. Still no great shots of it, but at least in this one you can see the texture and the surface a bit.

Thanks for posting the additional photo. Having seen this in person, I can safely say the photo doesn't do the fantastic piece justice. After the end of May, I suggest everyone rush to the Newark Museum to see exhibition "The Teapot" in the Katz Gallery outside the Ballantine House and see this special work of Art in person.
