City of Silver and Gold from Tiffany to Cartier, at the Newark Museum.
Baldwin & Co. was the first manufacturing silversmith of any scale (beyond spoons) in Newark...flourishing in the 1850s and 60s - also working as a jewelry manufacturer and retailer. Newark owns a pair of these presentation goblets, given to different people at different times (so, not really a pair, are they?) IP: Logged |

The die-roll on the base is unique to Baldwin, and seems to have been made from dies cut by Ferdinand Herpers, a Newark jewelry maker and die-cutter of the same period. IP: Logged |
