Living in NYC, June & I have lots of great restaurants to choose from. At one time it seemed like, if we weren’t going out to eat then we were ordering in. We even have had “New York Pot Luck” dinners. This is when we have a group of friends over and in the center piece there is a stack of neighborhood menus. Everyone orders their own meal from whatever menu... After a few minutes the food all generally arrives from the various restaurants at the about the same time. We plate everything into serving dishes and there is a lot of sharing. It is a great way to earn about the neighbor restaurants and to find interesting menu items we generally wouldn’t try. These days, June and I find we are eating (preparing) more meals at home much more than we use to. What about you? IP: Logged |

Well given the crazy schedules in my house I usually cook at home. Even though we don't live in the Big Apple where we are, there are many special markets & deli's that have a variety of "home cooked" meals to select from. You can mix & match or get a pre-packaged one. Much cheaper than going out & fresh daily & very good. Going out is only on special occasions to a place that has something that I would not make myself. Jersey IP: Logged |

As Scott and June know, we find the bounty of the Farmers Market makes eating at home irresistible. IP: Logged |
