It might be easier to pin down the mark if you can supply a few more details...e.g. piece type, how the mark is put on the piece (font style, if each letter is in a separate block, etc., etc.). Can you post a picture? IP: Logged |

The marking was on a siver handle for a cane also marked STERLING. I have seen this marking on at least two silver handles and on two gold handles for canes. Unfortunately I no longer have this cane. As I recall, each letter was separate (they were not all on a single stamped mark) and they were all capital letters (pretty much as you see in the word sterling, above.
