I copied this from The Arts and Crafts Movement Website and was hoping others in this forum could help shed light on Mr. Miller. I am researching Isaac Miller (Isaac Schucher), my grandfather. He was a little known craftsman in California through the turn of the century until about 1935. He exhibited his jewelry for sale in a large show at the Panama-Pacific Exhibition, San Francisco, 1915. Also, he executed silver works for various churches in California, mainly in the south, produced some presentation pieces for Albert Einstein's visit to San Diego, and ran a craft school for teachers in Oakland, California. He occasionally did oil paintings of landscapes. He was also a master engraver. IP: Logged |
