what if your silver candlesticks are only marked sterling and weighted

If they are just marked "Sterling Weighted", with no trademarks or anything else, you can be fairly certain that they are:

1.) American
2.) 20th Century
3.) Inexpensive when new
4.) Contain very little silver; all of the weight is in the cement base.
5.) Easliy damaged
6.) Of little collectible value

For my money, a decent piece of plate is 10 times better than a piece of weighted sterling.

I hope this helps. If you have some trademarks on the sticks, we might be able to identify the manufacturer.
