WEV & I each have posted in the 20th Century Silver Arts & Crafts Forum images of serving pieces marked MAAS. The pieces are clearly copies of the Georg Jensen pattern Continental. Do you know who MAAS was? Since these pieces are clearly marked MAAS and not marked Jensen, I wouldn't call them counterfeit. Were/is there a lot of copies like this done? Next week, June & I will bring our ladle to your booth at the NYC Pier Show so we can do a side to side comparison with Jensen's Continental.

The show was too busy to discuss this with Bill. We were able to do a quick side by side photo. I am interested in what you (Bill) suspect now that you have seen the MAAS piece in person?

Scott: the ladle you found was inspired by Jensen Continental pattern. It appeared to be well made with a few difference from the Georg Jensen continental pattern. There was a time when Danish silver could not be imported in large enought quanties to met the US Demand. Mr. Lunning licensed American Silversmiths to make silver in the Jensen style - This is what your ladle is. Probably made in USA around 1940's.

Here is yet another of what appears to be a take off on the Jensen Continental pattern from Potter & Mellen in Cleveland.
