Janet, These spoons & forks appear to be commemorative. What can you tell us about them? Are they very collectable?

Scott: These spoons are indeed commemorative. These spoons i believe were made in the 1970's and some people collect them today. Georg Jensen & Company made many similar items for example a Ring designed by Jensen & manufactured for the Franklin Mint a commemorative piece for the post office. IP: Logged |

I have seen these referred to as a series of Christmas flatware, released around that time each year. I've not seen any actual documentation to back that up. Some collect them, but they aren't as collectible as his jewelry and non-commemorative silver. [This message has been edited by Paul Lemieux (edited 01-16-2001).] IP: Logged |

Just recieved an interesting note from Replacements LTD. These spoons are listed in Kovel's Price quide for cpollector plates, Figures paper weights & Other limited editions'. The Jensen spoons range in price from $299.00 (1971) to $95.00 (1977) We do not seeem to get them often but Replacements says they have them from time to time. IP: Logged |
