Janet, On page 34 of your book you show a Pegasus/Bird Buckle. On page 131, you show the mirror image of the Bird part of the buckle as brooch no. 81. We have the following brooch which is marked 81. At the Miami beach show, we also saw another identical brooch marked 81. Is it possible the 81 means brooch and has nothing to do with it being Pegasus or Bird or anything else? IP: Logged |

What a great image. Your brooch is no. 81. The no.81 is indeed the product number given to that design. As you know Georg Jensen designs were produced for multiple images of the same piece. There is a distinction in the marks sometimes because of the different times a piece or production no. is put into production. Sometimes the silver standard dates the piece sometimes the company mark. Hope this helps a little. Janet Drucker IP: Logged |
