Hello, I own an Arts & Crafts bowl made by the Arts and Craft Shop of Shreve, Crump & Low Co. It has a hammered sterling body with jade cabochons accenting the top of each whiplash curved handle. An identical bowl if pictured in "Silver In America" on page 266. I'm curious to know if anyone has other examples of Shreve's Art and Craft Shop to share as I've never come across other pieces.
Thank you.

Great piece! C.R. Ashbee's designs for the Guild of Handicraft are some of my favorites, and this is a reasonably faithful adaptation.

I can find no reference to a craft workshop at Shreve, Crump & Low outside of Silver in America. Honestly, I don't believe SC&L ever made any silver for themselves. Everything they sold was made by another party. The Boston area was crawling with very capable silversmiths during the A&C period. These dishes could have been made by Gebelein, Woolley or even the Handicraft Shop of Boston or Stone. SC&L had enough retail clout that they could order things with their trademark only, and given the poor financial straits of many of the A&C makers, any one of them might have jumped at the chance to sell through SC&L, even if they didn't get the credit for it.

If anyone has any information to the contrary, I would love to hear it, but I really think these pieces were made for SC&L , and not by them.
