The Dictionnaire des Poinçons Orfèvrerie, 1992 states at page 112 that the makers mark of V.B.was entered by Boivin, 83, rue de Temple, Paris. The hallmark shows two stars with a crescent renversé. The successors to Boivin were Ravinet d'Enfert. The Dictionnaire also mentions Plasait, 9 place des Vosges, Paris in connection with the hallmark. IP: Logged |

Thanks so much for your help and time. The description of the hallmark fits quite well, although I read V.E. first. Well I am still a bit confused. One thing is that the mark is on a French art nouveau vase. Now my German books tell me that Ravinet d'Enfert was founded in 1882 and did use a different hallmark, well maybe it is a very early piece of art nouveau, but what my German books do also tell me is that Ravinet a rised from the firms of Tonnelier, Lejeune and Henry. I can't find anything about Boivin or Plasait. Does anyone have additional hints on this hallmark. IP: Logged |
