I have a small pair of silver tongs with spoons on the end marked CBS90. Did Conrad Bard & Son ever use this mark or does anyone know who did or if this is even American made? They have a very intricate pattern on the sides of a flower and bow with fine detailing, so I'm guessing this is from the Victorian period? IP: Logged |

Hello, Welcome to the Forums! "90" is a designation normally found on European silverplate, and it is very unlikely that CBS stands for Conrad Bard & Son, who were a Philadelphia coin silver producer from the mid 19th C. If I may ask, where did you get the idea that it might be? Just curious. At any rate, your tongs are very likely European silverplate, 20th C. Brent IP: Logged |
