I have an 11" tall silver basket with the following silver mark on the bottom: A large "C" with a small"A" below it inside a Larger "V". it is also stamped with 1418 and 3277 B? I am not sure about the last stamp mark. Could you please tell me something about this mark? Thank You, John ------------------ IP: Logged |

It sounds like the mark for Clarence A. Vanderbilt of New York, New York, c.1905-1935. Clarence was born March 14 1899 in Westfield New Jersey. He died on December 28, 1994 The only Item I came across was at auction on May 1, 1999 at Eldred's Auction Gallery 18K GOLD CIGARETTE LIGHTER By VCA of New York (Clarence C. Vanderbilt, 1909-1935). Estimated $600/$1,000 IP: Logged |
