Hello all, As no interesting modernist silver has crossed my path in some time, I have decided to start a thread or two with pieces in other metals from my cabinet of curiosities. Most silversmiths could and did work in other metals from time to time, and many workers in base metals could turn their hands to silver as well. So, there is a reasonable chance that the maker's of these things may also have made silver. Anyway, first up is a nice little hexagonal dish, skillfully hammered, well designed, with an applied brass border. It is marked with the attached H&W K mark. This is the only piece I have ever seen with this mark, but it looks like a well-cut stamp. Has anyone seen this mark before, or know of some metalworkers with those initials? Brent IP: Logged |
