[17-0430] This really nice modern tazza is very reminiscent of something that I just can't quite place. I've looked for the mark in Rainwater (older edition), on this site and on the Chicago site with no luck but I'd swear I've seen this mark before. Hard to research just a single letter.

It reminds me a little of my grandmother's Georg Jensen cream & sugar set (here's the sugar basket):

1940's- 50's Mueck-Carey Company of New York. Possibly bought out by Towle. Jersey IP: Logged |

The Mueck-Carey mark has a little vertical bar at each point. Either this mark has been discussed in the forums before, complete with sterling in the squiggly box, or I have a piece somewhere in my collection with the same mark, and I'm betting on it being the forum. IP: Logged |

thanks for the replies. I don't think I've ever heard of Mueck-Carey but some searching turned up some nice designs for them. I did search this site for the name and this is the only post that turned up. IP: Logged |

Hello taloncrest! You are correct, there was another post by Cyn 10-12-04 (Sterling Hallmarks Dates?), but the pictures have been removed. Jersey Images have been restored.... IP: Logged |
