I wanted to share this bowl I got recently by William Waldo Dodge. It's a golf trophy and the engraving is quite nice.
They sure used a lot of silver when making these pieces. I haven't weighed it, but it's quite heavy. The hammering is superb. IP: Logged |

It's very nice! It's interesting that Dodge seemed to be in the business of trophies. I have a Dodge bowl as well that is a trophy for the winner of the Maine chapter of the American Trapshooting Association's annual competition. I have seen at least one other ATA trophy bowl from Dodge, so he must have had a contract with them. IP: Logged |

Hi, thanks for your comments. I believe you are correct. The dealer I got this bowl from had a few others, and they were mostly Biltmore Forest Country Club although there was another trophy and it may be the place you mentioned. He did a lot for Biltmore Forest Country Club as his shop was located in Biltmore Forest. I hear that the building the shop was in is still there, but I am not sure exactly which one it is. I actually got this piece in downtown Asheville.

Hi guys, There is a reproduction of WW Dodge's silver shop at the NC museum of history, and while lots of his trophies abound, he made things like candlesticks also. Marc IP: Logged |
