The mark pictured below comes from a coin silver folding fruit knife with a grape vine design. Can anybody tell me who used the mark? It shows a sailing vessel, K over L, and a left-facing male profile.

What an interesting mark -- if it is American, I haven't seen anything like it before. The sailing ship reminds me of some of the Danish and Swedish town marks, but I didn't think they used stacked marks like that. Can you post a picture of the knife itself? IP: Logged |

I'm pretty sure that it's American, since the mark formation looks a lot like other American ones, such as Albert Coles. Plus the style and mono look American. But I couldn't find any references to the mark. IP: Logged |
