In a previous update on my maker's tree poject, I posted a list of the smiths related to Daniel Noyes - a civilian, so to speak. Here is another list, this time of the makers related to a fellow silversmith, Frederick Marquand. He probably needs little introduction, being one of the pre-eminent silversmiths (and real estate barons) of the nineteenth century. He and, perforce, his brothers Josiah and Henry have the additional distinction of being related to more makers than any other smith in the tree. I can only but wonder how much of their rich history they were aware of. Joel Allen Husband of Half 4th Cousin Once Removed Pardon the length of this, but the addition of the Marquands various and their cousin Josiah Penfield bring the total to 625 makers in the tree, so it's a bit of a celebration for me.
