I am always in search of references to early smiths working in southern Kentucky and middle Tennessee. At present I am continuing research into the Eubank family of Barren County, Ky. I would appreciate the contributions and input from anyone who might wish to help. Other silversmiths of interest include: Musgrove, Settle, Jeffries, McLure, Valenti, Hilburn, Fuselli, Mahin, Simpson, TWS, IH & FC, Beauchamp, FFC, Broderson, Linebaugh, Simpson, Toncray, DT, Cachot, Gardner, Jones (Rbt, Luther, Thomas). Samuel Musgrove of Kentucky apparently worked in Cincinnati during the 1830's & 40's. He is listed with a Virginia silversmith/jeweler named Rodolpho Cox in the Cincinnati Shaffer's advertising directory for 1839-40. In 1850 Musgrove is in Hamiltons, Larue County, Kentucky. Samuel Musgrove is also listed as a silversmith at Post Office Alley beween 3rd and 4th in The Cincinnati Directory for the Year 1834, Published by E Deming. This same directory is appended to include a statistical account of the towns of Newport and Covington, Kentucky. In the Newport section Edward Kinsey is listed as a silversmith boarding at the Newport Hotel. He does not appear in the Cincinnati portion of the directory.
