i would say there is always misinformation going around in any field of collectibles. the following comment came from an eBay listing: "Early Americans ate with a Knife and spoon. there are No Coin Silver Forks. None were made." just thought it would be of interest. IP: Logged |

Goodness me, where to start?
From a set of four and marked C. A. Burr for Cornelius Burr (1816-1863). That said (or rather shown), forks were indeed still uncommon in mid 19th century America, even being described as "a vulgar import" in some etiquette books. IP: Logged |
